Maskhead [Blu-ray]

Maskhead Blu-ray delivers one of the most confrontational and transgressive entries in modern underground horror, a bleak descent into exploitation, voyeurism, and extreme violence from Unearthed Films. Designed to provoke, repel, and unsettle, this cult shocker blurs the line between performance and cruelty until there’s no safe distance left for the viewer.

Syl and Maddie are lesbian filmmakers producing fetish videos for a niche audience with a taste for the forbidden. Their productions escalate beyond staged domination into genuine snuff, each video ending with the real torture and murder of a victim at the hands of their masked enforcer — a hulking, bandaged brute known only as Maskhead. As profits rise and bodies pile up, the operation grows bolder, more sadistic, and increasingly impossible to contain.

Shot with grimy immediacy and an unflinching eye, Maskhead rejects moral cushioning in favour of pure endurance cinema, placing it firmly in the lineage of extreme underground horror rather than conventional genre thrills. This Blu-ray edition presents the film alongside an alternate cut and extensive behind-the-scenes material, offering rare insight into the creation of one of the 2000s’ most notorious indie shock films.
