Rutger Hauer and Sylvia Kristel appear in two contrasting Dutch dramas. Paul de Lussanet’s Mysteries adapts Knut Hamsun’s novel into a psychological drama, photographed by Robby Müller and also featuring Rita Tushingham and David Rappaport.

Wim Verstappen’s Pastorale 1943 turns to the Dutch resistance during the Second World War and introduces Renée Soutendijk in her screen debut.
