Night World [Blu-ray]

Night World Blu-ray brings a fast-moving pre-Code ensemble drama set over the course of a single chaotic night inside a bustling nightclub, where intersecting lives collide in unpredictable ways.

Owned by the affable racketeer Happy MacDonald (Boris Karloff), the club becomes the backdrop for betrayal, romance and danger as secrets unravel across its crowded floors. A faithless wife plots behind his back, a troubled socialite searches for meaning, and a chorus girl offers a chance at redemption, while tensions build toward inevitable confrontation. Alongside its overlapping storylines, the film captures the energy of early 1930s Hollywood, complete with a striking musical sequence staged in the signature style of Busby Berkeley.

Blending crime, drama and musical elements, Night World stands as a vivid snapshot of pre-Code filmmaking, where moral lines blur and character-driven storytelling takes centre stage.
