One Tough Cop [Blu-ray]

One Tough Cop Blu-ray delivers a gritty, street-level crime drama based on the real-life exploits of legendary NYPD detective Bo Dietl. Produced by Martin Bregman, the force behind Serpico, Dog Day Afternoon, and Carlito’s Way, this hard-edged thriller plunges into a New York ruled by violence, corruption, and blurred moral lines.

When a nun is brutally assaulted and murdered, Detective Bo Dietl (Stephen Baldwin) and his partner Duke Finnerty (Chris Penn) dive headfirst into the city’s criminal underworld. Dietl’s lifelong friendship with mob capo Richie La Cassa (Mike McGlone) gives him access to information no badge should have — and puts him directly in the crosshairs of Internal Affairs and the FBI. As pressure mounts, alliances fracture and personal betrayals spiral, forcing Dietl to choose between justice, loyalty, and survival.

Directed by Bruno Barreto and written by Jeremy Iacone, One Tough Cop trades Hollywood polish for blunt realism, capturing the ethical compromises and emotional toll of policing at its most unforgiving. Anchored by a stacked cast including Gina Gershon, Amy Irving, and Luis Guzmán, the film stands as a tough, unsentimental portrait of crime, power, and consequence in late-1990s New York.
