Ossessione Limited Edition (UK Import) [Region B Blu-ray]

Ossessione Limited Edition UK Import Region B Blu-ray presents Luchino Visconti’s landmark 1943 debut in a new 4K restoration from Cinecittà and CSC - Cineteca Nazionale. Adapted from James M. Cain’s The Postman Always Rings Twice, the film stars Massimo Girotti and Clara Calamai in a morally charged story of passion, murder and desperation.

Gino, a drifter, arrives at a dusty trattoria in the Po Valley and meets Giovanna, the unhappily married woman who lives there with her husband. Their attraction quickly develops into an illicit affair, and the pair begin plotting an escape that will require them to remove the one person standing in their way.

Suppressed by Fascist censors following its release, Ossessione became a foundational work of Italian neorealism and announced Visconti as a major filmmaker. This Limited Edition UK import features the restored film on Region B Blu-ray alongside commentary, documentaries, interviews, reversible artwork and a booklet, presented in full-height Scanavo packaging with a removable OBI strip.
