Ozploitation Rarities Vol. 3 (1975, 1982, 1985) (Australian Import) [Blu-ray]

Ozploitation Rarities Volume 3 collects three Australian crime films whose investigations lead through corruption, political intrigue and dangerous hidden alliances.

Scobie Malone (1975)

Jack Thompson plays Sydney detective Scobie Malone, whose investigation of a woman’s death at the Opera House exposes a network of blackmail and corruption. Based on Jon Cleary’s Helga’s Web, the film combines a police mystery with the social and romantic complications surrounding its investigator.

Goodbye Paradise (1982)

Former policeman Michael Stacey has become a whistle-blower and reluctant private investigator. When an old friend’s daughter disappears, the case pulls him into a conspiracy involving a cult, a paramilitary organisation and a scheme to seize political power in Queensland. Ray Barrett stars alongside Robyn Nevin and Lex Marinos.

The Empty Beach (1985)

Cliff Hardy is hired to investigate a businessman’s disappearance off Bondi Beach two years earlier. A journalist’s murder and rumours of incriminating recordings bring criminals, political interests and hired muscle into the case. Bryan Brown plays the private investigator trying to uncover the truth before the same forces silence him.
