Video-store clerk Cosmo (Kevin Dillon) uncovers an alien invasion scheme hidden in a seemingly ordinary cassette. The fake 1950s science-fiction film Remote Control carries a signal that draws its viewers into the movie and transforms them into murderous puppets.

After barely resisting its effects, Cosmo and his eccentric boss Georgie (Christopher Wynne) are mistaken for killers when a neighbour sees them near a crime scene. Joined by Belinda (Deborah Goodrich), the girl Cosmo longs for, they must trace the deadly tape to its source before it reaches viewers around the world.

Directed by cult-horror filmmaker Jeff Lieberman, this darkly comic late-1980s thriller revisits the VHS era in its first UK Blu-ray edition.
