Scars Of The Sun/Blow The Night Limited Edition (UK Import) [Region B Blu-ray]

Scars of the Sun / Blow the Night LE Blu-ray presents two powerful youth rebellion films from Japanese director Chusei Sone, exploring gang culture, delinquency, addiction and disillusionment in early 1980s Japan. Collected together in a limited two-disc edition, these rarely seen dramas offer a fascinating glimpse into a turbulent period of Japanese youth culture.

In Scars of the Sun, a close-knit street gang begins to fracture when one of its members reconnects with his estranged brother, sparking tensions that threaten the group's traditions and loyalties. Blow the Night takes a more documentary-inspired approach, with former girl gang member Namie Takada portraying herself in a raw and uncompromising story of substance abuse, violence and survival on the margins of society.

Departing from the Roman Porno productions that initially established his reputation, Chusei Sone crafts two striking and socially conscious dramas that remain compelling snapshots of a changing Japan.
