Scobie Malone [Blu-ray]

Scobie Malone Blu-ray presents Terry Ohlsson’s 1975 Australian crime mystery starring Jack Thompson as Sydney detective Scobie Malone. Adapted from Jon Cleary’s novel Helga’s Web, the film blends murder investigation, political corruption and 1970s Australian atmosphere.

When a woman is found dead at the Sydney Opera House, Malone is pulled into a case that leads from social circles to the corridors of power. As he follows the trail, he uncovers blackmail, deception and hidden connections beneath Sydney’s polished surface.

A long-overlooked piece of Australian crime cinema, Scobie Malone captures the freewheeling energy of the era while delivering a stylish police procedural. This Blu-ray edition from Umbrella Entertainment includes audio commentary, interviews, trailers, booklet and a limited edition slipcover.
