Shawscope Volume 4 Limited Edition [Blu-ray]

Shawscope Volume 4 Blu-ray expands Arrow Video’s definitive exploration of Shaw Brothers cinema with a monumental ten-disc collection dedicated to the studio’s wildest intersections of martial arts, horror, fantasy, and supernatural excess. Spanning tokusatsu superheroics, occult shockers, wuxia nightmares, splatter-infused revenge tales, and delirious genre hybrids, this volume gathers sixteen films that showcase the studio at its most unhinged, imaginative, and transgressive.

Highlights include Hua Shan’s cult favourite Super Inframan, a high-kicking tokusatsu spectacle, alongside Ho Meng-hua’s nightmarish Black Magic films, where voodoo, curses, and raised corpses reign supreme. Kuei Chih-hung’s Hex cycle delivers relentless possession horror that paved the way for his later classics, while Chor Yuen, Lau Kar-wing, and Tang Tak-cheung contribute wuxia fantasies infused with murder, demons, and the supernatural. From the grotesque splatter of Seeding of a Ghost to the cosmic absurdity of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Shawscope Volume 4 stands as one of the most audacious and entertaining box sets in the series.

All sixteen films are newly restored in 2K from the original negatives and presented across ten Blu-ray discs, accompanied by an extensive slate of commentaries, interviews, video essays, and archival material. This limited edition set includes a 60-page illustrated booklet and newly commissioned artwork, making it an essential release for fans of Shaw Brothers cinema and Asian genre film.
