Short Circuit (UK Import) [Blu-ray]

Short Circuit Blu-ray brings the beloved 1986 sci-fi comedy to home video in a high-definition presentation of one of the decade’s most enduring crowd-pleasers. After being struck by lightning during a military experiment, prototype robot Number 5 unexpectedly gains self-awareness and escapes into the real world. Mistaken for an alien by free-spirited animal lover Stephanie Speck, the runaway machine discovers friendship, curiosity, and a fierce will to live — while its creators race to recover it before the military shuts it down for good.

Directed by John Badham, Short Circuit blends lighthearted science fiction with slapstick comedy and genuine emotional warmth, anchored by its iconic robotic lead and a sharp supporting cast. Equal parts family adventure and Cold War tech satire, the film became a defining hit of mid-’80s pop cinema and remains endlessly rewatchable decades later.
