Slap The Monster On Page One Limited Edition [Blu-ray]

Slap The Monster On Page One Limited Edition Blu-ray presents Marco Bellocchio’s 1972 political thriller in a limited edition Radiance Films release. Set during Italy’s turbulent Years of Lead, the film is a fierce drama of media manipulation, political opportunism and moral corruption, starring Gian Maria Volonté as a newspaper editor willing to weaponize tragedy for power.

Days before a general election, a shocking crime becomes front-page news. Bizanti, the editor of a right-wing newspaper, seizes on the story to support the conservative candidate backed by his paper, turning public outrage into a political tool.

Sharp, urgent and still deeply relevant, Slap The Monster On Page One stands alongside the great Italian political thrillers of the era. This limited edition Blu-ray features a director-approved 4K restoration by Cineteca di Bologna, archival and newly filmed interviews, an appreciation by Alex Cox, improved subtitles, booklet and limited edition packaging.
