Soda Pop Joe Limited Slipcover Edition Blu-ray presents Oldřich Lipský’s 1964 Czech Western spoof from a 4K restoration by the Národní filmový archiv in Prague.

Set in the hard-drinking town of Stetson City in 1885, the film introduces the impossibly clean-cut Soda Pop Joe, a travelling salesman determined to convert the locals to Kolaloka Soda. His arrival places him at odds with saloon culture, crooked characters and the villainous Hogo Fogo, all while the film gleefully parodies the conventions of classic Hollywood Westerns.

Combining musical comedy, rapid-fire sight gags and satire of advertising and corporate branding, Soda Pop Joe was the first of three comedies Lipský made with writer Jiří Brdečka. Karel Fiala stars as Joe alongside Květa Fialová, Olga Schoberová and Miloš Kopecký.
