Star Wars Kid: The Rise of the Digital Shadows [Blu-ray]

Star Wars Kid: The Rise of the Digital Shadows Blu-ray presents a thoughtful and revealing documentary that revisits one of the internet’s earliest viral moments, shifting the focus from spectacle to the real human story behind it.

Nearly two decades after the video that made him famous without consent, Ghyslain Raza speaks openly about the experience and its lasting impact. What was once reduced to a global joke is reexamined as a formative moment in online culture, exposing the consequences of viral fame, digital harassment and the loss of personal control in an increasingly connected world.

Director Mathieu Fournier approaches the subject with empathy and depth, tracing Raza’s journey from isolation to recovery while expanding the conversation to include the broader implications of internet culture. The result is a compelling and timely look at how online narratives are shaped—and who they leave behind.
