Stray Dog [4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray]

Stray Dog 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray restores Akira Kurosawa’s gripping postwar crime drama in a stunning new edition. When young detective Murakami (Toshiro Mifune) has his service pistol stolen on a crowded bus, his shame turns into obsession. Determined to track down the thief, he combs Tokyo’s sweltering streets in disguise, pursuing the desperate “stray dog” whose stolen weapon will soon be used in violent crimes.

As Murakami’s investigation deepens, the line between cop and criminal blurs. Guided by veteran detective Sato (Takashi Shimura), he confronts not only the underbelly of postwar Japan but also the shadow within himself. Blending procedural tension with moral inquiry, Stray Dog stands as one of Kurosawa’s most psychologically acute thrillers.
