The Acid Eaters + Space Thing Blu-ray presents a double feature of 1960s exploitation oddities from producer David F. Friedman and director Byron Mabe, newly restored from the original 35mm camera negatives by AGFA and Something Weird Video.

FILMS INCLUDED

The Acid Eaters (1967)

Billed as “the first Hollywood underground film,” The Acid Eaters follows a group of working-class swingers whose drug-fuelled trip turns into a surreal descent through violence, temptation and psychedelic excess. Starring Pat Barrington, the film is a strange, colourful snapshot of late-1960s exploitation cinema.

Space Thing (1968)

A warped riff on 1960s sci-fi and pulp adventure, Space Thing follows Col. James Granilla as he boards a flying saucer and encounters a crew of space travellers in a campy, low-budget outer-space fantasy.

Presented “in psychedelic color,” this Region Free Blu-ray brings both films to the format for the first time with archival commentaries, Something Weird S-VHS archive shorts, trailers, photo gallery, booklet and a limited spot gloss slipcover.
