The Blade 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray presents Tsui Hark’s ferociously radical reimagining of the wuxia tradition in a stunning new restoration. A visceral reinvention of the one-armed swordsman myth, the film follows Ding On, a young blade-maker whose brutal maiming ignites a transformation into a force of relentless vengeance. Shot in a storm of fractured editing, extreme close-ups, and raw physicality, The Blade strips martial-arts cinema of romanticism and honour, replacing it with rage, pain, and elemental fury. Initially misunderstood, it has since been reclaimed as one of Tsui Hark’s most daring and influential works.
