The Collector Blu-ray presents William Wyler’s chilling adaptation of John Fowles’ novel in a 2K restoration. Terence Stamp delivers a disturbingly restrained performance as a socially isolated butterfly enthusiast who abducts a young art student, played by Samantha Eggar, imprisoning her in a cellar as though she were part of his collection.
Psychologically intense and unsettling, The Collector remains one of the most controversial thrillers of the 1960s, anchored by two Cannes-winning performances and Wyler’s precise, controlled direction.
