The Counsellor [Blu-ray]

The Counsellor Blu-ray presents Alberto De Martino’s 1973 Italo-crime saga in a brand new HD master from a 4K scan of the 35mm original camera negative. Starring Tomás Milián and Martin Balsam, the film blends mafia drama, violent power struggles and 1970s Italian crime atmosphere into a tense story of loyalty, betrayal and underworld codes.

When the godson of San Francisco syndicate boss Don Antonio asks permission to leave the criminal life behind, the request threatens the rules that hold the organization together. Don Antonio agrees reluctantly, but the decision sparks a dangerous conflict with underboss Garofalo.

Pulled back into the violence he hoped to escape, the godson once again becomes the consigliori as the situation erupts into mob war. Also featuring Francisco Rabal, Dagmar Lassander and a score by Riz Ortolani, The Counsellor is a sharp Italo-crime thriller from the director of Blazing Magnum.
