The Exterminator [Blu-ray + DVD]

The Exterminator Blu-ray + DVD brings James Glickenhaus’ controversial 1980 exploitation revenge thriller to high definition in its unrated director’s cut. A gritty cult favourite from the height of the urban vigilante cycle, the film stars Robert Ginty as a Vietnam veteran pushed into a one-man war against the New York underworld.

John Eastland returns from Vietnam only to see his closest friend attacked by a violent street gang. With the justice system offering little relief, Eastland takes matters into his own hands and becomes known as “The Exterminator,” a vigilante figure feared by criminals, pursued by police and followed closely by the public.

Starring Christopher George, Robert Ginty, Samantha Eggar and Steve James, The Exterminator remains one of the most notorious revenge films of its era. Synapse Films presents the film in its more intense director’s cut, newly restored in high definition from original vault materials, with commentary and original promotional materials.
