The Goddess (1958) Limited Edition (Australian Import) [Blu-ray]

The Goddess 1958 Limited Edition Blu-ray presents John Cromwell’s Hollywood drama in its worldwide Blu-ray debut from Imprint. Written by Paddy Chayefsky, the film stars Kim Stanley and Lloyd Bridges in a bleak portrait of fame, ambition and emotional isolation.

Told across three distinct acts, the film follows Emily Ann Faulkner from a difficult childhood and broken home to Hollywood stardom under the name Rita Shawn. As success transforms her public life, the pressures and personal damage beneath the surface become increasingly difficult to escape.

Allegedly inspired by the life of Marilyn Monroe, The Goddess examines the human cost of celebrity with a sharp, unsentimental edge. Chayefsky received an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay, while Kim Stanley delivers the central performance in this tragic rise-to-fame story. This Limited Edition Australian import includes a 1080p Blu-ray presentation, theatrical trailer and English HOH subtitles, limited to 1,500 copies.
