The Great Outdoors [4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray]

The Great Outdoors 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray brings back a classic summer comedy built around chaos, clashing personalities and one unforgettable family vacation.

What starts as a peaceful getaway quickly spirals when an uninvited group of relatives shows up at a lakeside resort, turning relaxation into rivalry. Easygoing Chet Ripley (John Candy) finds himself at odds with his loud, scheming brother-in-law Roman Craig (Dan Aykroyd), setting off a series of escalating antics as each tries to outdo the other. From awkward family moments to outright absurd showdowns, the film leans fully into its slapstick energy while capturing the tension of forced togetherness.

Written by John Hughes and directed by Howard Deutch, the film pairs sharp comedic timing with a memorable setting, creating a fast-paced and endlessly quotable comedy driven by two perfectly matched leads.
