Ann Brooks appears to have a secure life with her wealthy husband until a former spouse claims that their divorce was never valid. Threatened with blackmail, she travels to Cuba to resolve the situation, unaware that her suspicious current husband has hired a private detective to follow her.
The investigator begins by trying to compromise Ann, only to find his professional interest turning into genuine affection. With the blackmailer also aboard and several people pursuing schemes of their own, the journey becomes a tangle of deception and romance. Kay Francis and George Brent star, with Glenda Farrell and Allen Jenkins, in Michael Curtiz's comedy-drama.
