The Last Match [Blu-ray]

The Last Match Blu-ray unleashes a wild early ’90s Italian action spectacle from producer and director Fabrizio De Angelis, blending sports-movie bravado with full-throttle exploitation mayhem. What begins as a desperate father’s fight to free his daughter from a brutal foreign prison quickly spirals into an outrageous, weapons-loaded rescue mission.

When football star Cliff Gaylor learns his daughter has been framed for drug smuggling while vacationing in the Caribbean, every official channel fails him. With a corrupt legal system, an indifferent American consulate, and a sadistic warden standing in the way, Cliff turns to the only team he can trust. Before the next play is called, his coach and the entire football squad are airborne, armed to the teeth, and ready to storm a prison to bring her home.

Co-written by Gianfranco Clerici and Vincenzo Mannino and shot by Giuseppe Ruzzolini, the film escalates into a gleefully excessive showdown packed with explosions, choppers, and absurd heroics. Making its worldwide Blu-ray debut, The Last Match arrives from a new 4K restoration with a loaded slate of special features for fans of unhinged Italian action cinema.
