The Rubber Gun Blu-ray resurrects Allan Moyle’s raw and immersive portrait of Montréal’s underground counterculture in the 1970s.

Following a loose-knit group of friends living on the fringes, the film centres on a charismatic painter running a small drug operation while maintaining a fragile sense of community. When outside attention begins to close in, both from law enforcement and a curious academic observer, tensions simmer beneath the surface, exposing fractures within their chosen family.

Blending documentary realism with narrative experimentation, The Rubber Gun captures a moment in Canadian cinema where boundaries were being pushed both stylistically and culturally. Long out of circulation, this restoration brings new clarity to a defining work of Canuxploitation-era filmmaking.
