The Sting of Death Blu-ray presents Kohei Oguri’s haunting, hyperreal adaptation of Toshio Shimao’s novel, released for the first time on Blu-ray worldwide. Set in postwar Japan, the film follows a writer whose infidelity drives his wife into spiralling paranoia and psychological collapse. As guilt and devotion collide, he struggles to save her from the brink of madness.

Shot in a painterly yet unflinching style, The Sting of Death captures the quiet devastation of fractured love against the backdrop of small-town life. Winner of the Grand Jury Prize at Cannes, with award-winning performances from Ittoku Kishibe and Keiko Matsuzaka, this is a landmark of modern Japanese cinema.
