The Third Murder [Blu-ray]

The Third Murder Blu-ray presents Hirokazu Kore-eda’s acclaimed 2017 legal drama and psychological mystery starring Masaharu Fukuyama, Koji Yakusho and Suzu Hirose.

Attorney Shigemori takes on the defence of Misumi, a murder and robbery suspect who previously served time for another killing three decades earlier. With Misumi openly confessing to the crime, the case appears straightforward and the possibility of avoiding the death penalty seems remote.

As Shigemori investigates further and hears conflicting accounts from Misumi and the victim’s family, certainty begins to unravel. What initially seems like a simple question of guilt develops into a deeper examination of truth, justice and whether the facts of a crime can ever be fully known.
