The Tune LE Video Store Day Exclusive Blu-ray presents Bill Plympton’s first feature film, a wildly surreal animated musical comedy from Deaf Crocodile. Created in Plympton’s distinctive coloured-pencil animation style, the film follows Del, a struggling songwriter desperate to write a hit song and save his relationship with his long-suffering girlfriend Didi.
On his way to meet Didi and his boss, Del is pulled into the cheerfully bizarre world of Flooby Nooby, a warped alternate universe filled with strange characters, offbeat songs and twisted nostalgia. From Doggie Elvis to musical food, sadistic bellhops and tunes like Dig My Do, No Nose Blues and Tango Shmango, The Tune is a playful, eccentric journey through love, creativity and getting completely lost.
Co-written and scored by Maureen McElheron, The Tune is a key work from two-time Oscar-nominated animator Bill Plympton, blending surreal comedy, hand-drawn charm and musical absurdity. This Video Store Day Exclusive Limited Edition Blu-ray includes classic Plympton shorts, The Flying House, interviews, commentaries, trailer, booklet and exclusive limited slipcover.
