Victory (1996) Limited Edition (Australian Import) [Blu-ray]

Victory 1996 Limited Edition Blu-ray presents Mark Peploe’s atmospheric adaptation of Joseph Conrad’s novel in its worldwide Blu-ray debut from Imprint. Willem Dafoe, Sam Neill and Irène Jacob lead an international cast in this tale of passion, isolation, betrayal and danger set in the Dutch East Indies.

Musician Alma faces a grim future when she is threatened with exploitation by a predatory hotel owner. Desperate to escape, she turns to the mysterious Axel Heyst, a former businessman who has withdrawn from society and now lives alone on a remote island. Heyst reluctantly helps her flee, and the pair retreat to his secluded home, where their relationship deepens.

Their fragile peace is shattered by the arrival of three strangers who claim to have reached the island by chance. As suspicion grows, Heyst and Alma are drawn into a dangerous web of vengeance and deception. This Limited Edition Australian import includes a 1080p Blu-ray presentation, new commentary, a new interview with Bill Paterson and English HOH subtitles, limited to 1,500 copies.
