White Sun of the Desert Deluxe Limited Edition (US Import) [Blu-ray]

White Sun of the Desert Deluxe Limited Edition Blu-ray presents Vladimir Motyl’s iconic Soviet “Ostern” in a beautifully restored edition, bringing one of the most beloved films in Russian cinema to Blu-ray for the first time in the U.S.

Set during the Russian Civil War, the film follows Red Army soldier Fyodor as he journeys across the deserts of Turkmenistan, longing to return home — only to become entangled in a dangerous conflict involving a bandit leader and a group of women caught between worlds. Blending dry humour, action, and philosophical undertones, the film reimagines Western genre conventions through a distinctly Soviet lens.

With striking desert cinematography, memorable dialogue, and a unique mix of adventure and social commentary, White Sun of the Desert remains a landmark of international cinema.
