Women in Cellblock 9 Blu-ray presents Jess Franco’s 1978 women-in-prison exploitation film completely uncut in a limited-edition release.
Also known as Frauen für Zellenblock 9 and Tropical Inferno, the film follows a group of female freedom fighters imprisoned in a remote jungle facility, where they face a brutal regime controlled by their captors.
Produced by Erwin C. Dietrich and starring Karine Gambier, Howard Vernon, Susan Hemingway and Aida Gouveia, Women in Cellblock 9 combines Franco’s distinctive visual style with exotic locations, an atmospheric score by Walter Baumgartner and the provocative excesses of European exploitation cinema.
