Yokohama BJ Blues Standard Edition [Blu-ray]

Yokohama BJ Blues Blu-ray makes its worldwide debut in high definition, presenting a stylish and melancholic neo-noir that redefined Yusaku Matsuda’s screen persona at the height of his career.

Blending the loose narrative influence of The Long Goodbye with the atmospheric melancholy of Death in Venice, Yokohama BJ Blues Blu-ray follows a disgraced private investigator and blues singer forced into a dangerous underworld after being framed for his best friend’s murder. As he digs deeper, he uncovers a sprawling network of corruption involving crooked police, drug traffickers and the hidden fringes of Yokohama’s nightlife.

Directed by Eiichi Kudo, this brooding crime drama captures early 1980s Japan with a gritty, jazz-infused edge, marking a bold departure from Matsuda’s action-hero image into something more introspective and morally complex.
