Zipang [Blu-ray]

Zipang Blu-ray presents Kaizo Hayashi’s wildly inventive 1990 Japanese fantasy adventure from Toy Robot Video. Set in an alternate Japan where modern technology collides with ancient legend, the film follows samurai outlaw Jigoku and his band of renegades as they uncover the keys to a mythical kingdom of gold.

Their quest quickly becomes even more dangerous when they draw the attention of Yuri the Pistol, a beautiful bounty hunter and expert gunslinger who sets off in pursuit. With supernatural ninja warriors, swordplay, guns, comedy and unpredictable fantasy twists, Zipang builds a world where samurai adventure and pop-art spectacle collide.

Fast, colourful and completely over the top, Zipang blends martial arts, fantasy, fairy-tale adventure and late-1980s Japanese genre energy into a one-of-a-kind cult film.
